How To Pass The PMP At The Lowest Possible Cost

To begin with there are a lot of requirements to be allowed to take the PMP exam in the first place. To fill out an application to take the exam you have to have a Bachelor's degree or global equivalent degree. You also have to have completed 4,500 hours of project management experience. To prove that you have these hours there are forms to complete so that you are able to verify the hours you have completed. You must also have three years of project management experience in the six years. Anything prior to six years will not count. Also, you do have to have completed thirty five hours of project management education too. These will cover the topics of human resources, time, project quality, scope, risks, procurement, communications and integration management too.

However, if you do not have a degree, you will have more requirements to apply for the PMP exam. You will than need 7,500 hours of project management experience and five years of project management experience in the last eight years. Again, anything before eight years will not count. You will also need the thirty five hours also of the project management education, learning the same topics and information as the person with the college degree.

So, with that in mind you want to make sure that you do pay close attention in class and do any and all free prep questions and exams that you can find. The lowest possible cost of taking the exam will come from passing the first time around, as well as joining the PMI organization too. The cost to join is $129 and this lowers the cost of taking the PMP exam from $555 to $405. You do not have to do this, however this is the best way to lower the cost of getting your PMP certification.

After that the classes that you will be taking will cost around $1,500 approximately. Looking for the best deal when it comes to the class time, will also the cost of the PMP certification as well. Keep in mind that you will need the study kit and that is around $433. Again, you will want to look for deals on the cost of the kit to lower the cost as well further. There is also the PMP exam preparation courses that you will want to take as well. These vary greatly in price, so you will want to look through your choices closely to find what will work best for you. The average cost is around $2,500, but you want to make sure that you will be getting the preparation you need though too.

After all this, you want to make sure to pass the first time you take the exam. This alone lowers your cost, as well as not letting too much time lapse between when you begin taking the courses and when you take the exam. You want to stay on a schedule, study, take the courses and than the exams. Passing the first time, means not having to pay again and go through all the preparation again too.
