Tesla Unit

The Tesla unit is defined as T. It comes from the SI derived unit that is magnetic field B. The magnetic field B is also called the magnetic flux density as well. When you have one weber unit you will be able to equal this to one tesla. This standard of measurement was created to honor the late Nikola Tesla. It was created in 1960 because of his dedication to being an electrical engineer, inventor and physicist that had figured out ways to create power. Currently, Halback Spheres are the strongest magnetic fields that are available and these are than defined as 5T or 5 tesla units. Keep in mind, that the T is uppercase since the SI unit is named after a person, in this case Tesla. However, when you are going to spell put the word, than tesla stays in lower case. So, when doing an equation, using the tesla unit, you want to keep in mind that 1 coulomb that passes through a magnetic field of 1 tesla, is moving at a speed of 1 meter per second and will be experiencing a force of 1 newton. This example is based on Lorentz Force Law. You can express a tesla unit as an SI unit, in the following equation: 1T=1 V x s/m squared=1 N/A x m=1 Wb/m squared=1 kg/C x s=1 kg/A x s squared=1 N x s/C x m The other SI units to know and understand for the equation are: A - ampere C - coulomb kg - kilogram m - meter N - newton s - second T - tesla V - volt Wb - weber
